HELLENIC SHIPPING SERVICES (L.L.C.) was established in Dubai (U.A.E.) in 1986.  Since its inception, HSS has completed successful years of services in hull thickness measurement, Marine Survey and Consultancy, gaining international reputation and experience.

The company staff consists of highly professional and qualified Marine Engineers, Naval Architects and NDT Technicians with experience at sea and ashore.

All services undertaken are strictly carried out in compliance with international rules and regulations and with the highest degree of skill and knowledge.

Our services are offered in U.A.E. and worldwide.

Over the years, the company is providing reliable services in the following fields:

Ø      Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UT Gauging).

Hellenic Shipping Services is approved by the following classification societies : ABS, DNV, LR, BV, NK, GL, RINA, RS, KR, CCS, HRS, PRS, IRS, INSB…

The following services can be provided for all floating units, ESP ships included:

§               Thickness measurements as per classification societies requirements for maintenance of class; CAP & CAS;

§               Hull corrosion surveys on behalf of Owners for condition assessment;

§               Evaluation of thickness measurements and determination of minimum acceptable steel renewal;

§               Supervision of  steel repairs;

§               Evaluation of the longitudinal strength of the ship’s hull girder as per class requirements for tankers.

Ø      Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for shipyards, workshops or owners:

§               Ultrasonic Flaw Detection

§               Magnetic Particle Inspection (M.P.I)

§               Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)

§               Leak test (Vacuum, Pneumatic Testing)

§               Radiographic test using IR-192 Isotope ( To be introduced by December 06)

Ø      Cargo Gear Overload Testing For Cranes/Derricks Of  Up To 20 Tons SWL

Ø      Anchor Chain Calibration :

§               Anchor chain calibration as per classification societies’ requirements.

Ø      Ultrasonic Hatch Cover and Shell Doors Tightness Testing as approved by classification societies.

Ø      Piping Pressure Testing and issuance of related certificates.

The company in its effort to provide the services mentioned above and to be in line with the technological developments in the marine industry, works in close liaison with classification societies and Flag administrations.

The company has branch offices in Doha (QATAR), Port- Elizabeth (South Africa) and in Piraeus (Greece).
